Cricket fever begins at the right moment with the thrill bidding of players at IPL 2020 auction!

The VIVO IPL 2020 Player Auction list is out with a total of 332 cricketers who went under the hammer in Kolkata on December 19th, 2019. The auction completed with the franchises shelling out a combined sum of ₹ 140.30 crores to buy a total of 62 players including 29 overseas cricketers.

The highest reserve price is ₹2 crores and the seven overseas players – Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Chris Lynn, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Dale Steyn & Angelo Mathews have opted to be slotted in the highest bracket. Pat Cummins, the Aussies all-rounder was bagged by KKR for ₹15.5 Cr becoming the 2nd-most expensive foreign player in the history of the IPL auction. He broke the record of Ben Strokes who bought by Rising Pune Super Giant for ₹14.5 Cr in the 2017 IPL auction.

Initially, RCB and Delhi Capitals were locked in the bidding war for Cummins who had a base price of ₹2 Cr. The bid swiftly soared past ₹5 Cr, with RCB briefly in the lead at ₹5.25 Cr. Cummins eventually returned to KKR for a jaw-dropping price of ₹15.5 Cr in the end.

Highlights of Fierce Bidding – Most Expensive Players:

1. Aussies player Pat Cummins made merry ranking for big bucks at IPL 2020 who claimed 15 wickets for Delhi Daredevils in IPL 2017. In 2018 he was ruled out from Mumbai Indians due to injury.

2. Glenn Maxwell ended up with a whopping price of ₹10.75 crores to Kings XI Punjab becoming the second most expensive buy in this IPL 2020 auction.

3. Chris Morris the powerful all-rounder went into a bidding war between RCB, Rajasthan Royals, KXIP but RCB eventually bagged Morris for a whopping sum of ₹10 Crores.

4. West Indies pace bowler Sheldon Cottrell bought by KXIP for ₹8.5 crores right from the base price of 50 Lakhs. How many of them are fall in love with ‘Cottrell salute’? Comment your reaction below.

5. Nathan Coulter-Nile Australian pacer bought for the sum of ₹8 crores by the defending champions Mumbai Indians In a fierce battle with last year’s runners-up Chennai Super Kings MI had to shell out a substantial sum to grab the pacer.

6. Shimron Hetmyer will be shifting bases from his previous franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore to Delhi Capitals for IPL 2020. Base price: ₹50 lakhs and he sold for ₹7.75 crores.
